I have this Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard. This motherboard has a problem with XP Sp3 and required a BIOS upgrade( I was warned by Asus only do this if you need SP3) I did the upgrade and now its a paperweight. Doesn't boot or post nothing. Turns on for about 1 min then turns off. Fine motherboard is fried but thats ok. My problem is trying to get another one that will use everything else I have. Any wizards or guides that are out there like the memory guides...just put in your desktop and they tell you what memory to buy. I have searched online and this is a common problem with this board but not sure how to get another one that will use memory, cpu. Also need one that will use XP Sp3. Windows 7 or Vista is not an option has to be Sp3.

Thanks for any guidance you have.

    Yea.. ASUS motherboards sucks...
You can RMA it if it's still under warranty.. I had to wait 1 month and I end up with a super scratch one, and packed with dust.... so much dust that my PCI-E and RAM did not fit.. i had to use a bush to remove all the dust (air can could not remove it).

Anyway.. you can't buy a new Socket 939 motherboard these days, unless you go pass a visit on ebay and cross your fingers it's a working one, and not get screwed over.

In your case, if you have the budget, I say.. buy Win7 64-bit, get a Core i7 860 or 920, a Gigabyte motherboard, and DDR3 memory (triple channel if you go with the i7 920 (6GB) and dual channel for the i7 860 (8GB) ), and upgrade the HDD from IDE to SATA if it's an old IDE one. Coming summer, this is what I plan to do (well get better/newer stuff, if it fits the budget I'll get it).

ASUS motherboards was JUST problems after problems after problems... ASUS is now on my black list.
