You bothced the BC2 link... Here is the fix. < Bad Company 2[/url] >

Shame about the card, I just don't think Nvidia realize how much they have screwed the pooch with fermi.

Is it my imagination or has there been a lot of disappointing hardware recently?

Ouch. Seems ATI will still be right up there for a short while (at least!) yet.

So its slow, hot, power hungry and expensive! Where do I sign up? *sigh*

Can I make a minor suggestion when a card scores low among cards which are seen as direct competitors. How about throwing in a much cheaper card, such as a 5770 as a point of comparison. I seem to remember in previous card reviews, the list was a lot larger, but this one only has a few cards to compare against.

    Oh dear.

Power consumption that beats a 5870?! A £230 price tag?! Drop the price down to £200 maximum, ideally <£180 and you have a half decent card. Pricing it the same as a 5850 - that's just plain silly. On the other hand, SLI performance does do well as usual.

At least the temperatures are decent, right? Right? Aw, fudge it.

What a pointless card. I'm surprised it even got a 6 overall score. There really are too many graphics cards out.

Just 3 from each manufacturer would be fine.

One budget, one mainstream, one top of the range.

@ Ph4ZeD - You never know until you see the figures themselves :)

A well written review, a shame about the conclusion!

Why? Because it doesn't recommend the card or that the card isn't worth recommending?

yeah you really need to get a hardware league table going. it is very hard to compare older products / products not included in the given review.

nvidia pricing for the 4 series in the uk is useless. How do they expect to compete when the 5850 is £225?

465 (which isn't much quicker then my 260 and that cost £130) £240
    470 £290

Sad thing is if nvidia were more competitive wouldn't be surprised if ati could drop the 5850/5870 to 4850/4870 prices (i.e. sub £150).

Hardly worth releasing the 465...terrible value for money when compared to the HD5850...

Looks like this generation is all about ATI still. These fermi cards look to be the gas-guzzlers of GPU technology. Though given their previous dominance I suppose it's no bad thing to see the pendulum swing the other way this time around.
