I finally worked up the nerve to overclock my card. I got it to about 890 core clock and 2100 memory clock to be stable, worked it on the extreme test on kombustor. I only reached 63C max on load.

Now the question is... should i up the voltage a notch? I haven't unlocked the voltages yet, so it's still on stock voltages.

    Are you using GPU Tweak?

Yeah. Gpu tweak combined with msi's kombustor. I then use unigene heaven to bench and to do a final stability.

MSI Kombuster is not much of a test to be truthful. Unigine Heaven and in game would be the real test to prove the reliability of an overclock.

Yea push the voltages that's what they are there for. ;) You'll hit a point where it suddenly goes v.hot and that's when you drop off.

I found the GPU tends to become unstable before the temperatures even become an issue where my GTX 460 SLI are concerned. Game at 890MHz on the core which on air and in SLI is pretty damn good for GTX 460. Beauty of these older Fermi cards is the ability to customise the BIOS fairly easily. I modified mine so the voltage is not limited to stock settings! :D
