" five PCI-Express slots, one PCI slot and an Asus "PIKE" optional storage slot for a range of SATA/SAS upgrades."

    Or,

    2x PCI-E x16 slots
    1x PCI x8
    3x PCI slots

    *looks at picture*

*sees NOT ONE of them is right-angled, even though they're all at the edge of the board*

    :O

    *want*

    *looks in wallet*

    *cry*

Would an amazing mod include this, the 12 core CPUs, a 5870, phase change cooling, and a ludicrous OC all smothered in more RAM than ever thought possible?

The board uses the Flex-E technology which allows 2x PCI-E x8 to be converted to 1x PCI-E x16

    Total PCI/PCI-X/PCI-E Slots: 6
    Slot Location 1: 1 * PCI 32bit/33 MHz
    Slot Location 2: 1 * PCI-E x16 (Gen2 X8 Link)
    Slot Location 3: 1 * PCI-E x16 (Gen2 X16 Link) (Auto switch to x8 Link if slot 2 is occupied)
    Slot Location 4: 1 * PCI-E x8 (Gen2 X4 Link)
    Slot Location 5: 1 * PCI-E x16 (Gen2 X 16 Link)
    Slot Location 6: 1 * PCI-E x16 (Gen2 x16 Link for 1U FH/FL Card) (Auto turn off if slot 5 is occupied, MIO supported)
Additional Slot 1: 1* PIKE Slot for Storage expansion

bet it could play 24 copys of doom :) (vms)

should be an folding beast (still more better cost to use i7 930 or i7 8x0 cpu @ 4-4.2 ghz) as that can be done for £500-600

DO WANT. Props to Asus for getting it right, and getting a Pike system on a AMD board.
