    Current setup right now is:

    Asus M2 Crosshair Motherboard
    AMD64 X2 4200+ 65W @ 2.2Ghz
1Gb DDR2 (not sure on full specs or timings, will edit when I get home)
    eVGA 7600GT / Asus 7600GT in SLI
    2x 34Gb Raptors.

What I would like to do is overclock the whole system, CPU and graphics. I havn't delt with overclocking since I overclocked my old K6 450 to 550 :thumb:(Yeah its been a while). With all the setting avalible in the bios, i am very lost  . Any help I could get would be great.

I'm sure that if you bring this to the attention of Highland3r, he will be happy to sort you out.

    Good Luck

Well unfortunatly the only info i have found on the ram is that its made by buffalo (yes i know cheap ram but its been stable with what overclocking i have mucked around with) and the manufactures cas rating is 4.

Also just to make it known i have a 550W power supply.

I know the basics of what I need to do, find limits and all, but there are so many things in the bios for overclocking I really don't know where to begin. Like different things to change freqeuncy for such as Cpu -> NB freq, and much more.

The real problem with AMD is the overclocking complexity, Intel is fairly easy, Ram + internal clock, and multipliars.

AMD however the ram has to be in proportian to the HT etc

Again just see if you can gravitate Highland3r he's very good at overclocking

i would like to see where this goes actually, as i have a 4600 2.4GHz (which ive been told can hit over 3GHz no problem) and yet i'm getting errors on core 2 at anything over 2.8GHz vCore is fine because no matter what i raise or lower it to i get the same porblem ¬_¬

Then your core 2 is weak, and you're stuck at 2.8. Sorry, unless you can alter a mem setting to keep it in line...

OK, as for the OP, if you can get me the speed rating, I'll help you as much as possible. I had a 3 GHz 3800 SC for a while, then a 2.9GHz 3000, and my 3500 AM2 is at 2.7, RAM limited. I can help you wade through this stuff, hopefully, and highland3r is awesome as well.

We can get you through this, if you give us a bit more to go on on the RAM.

Well I'd just check out google for some AMD 939/AM2 overclocking guide. And you'll probably find out the basics like hTT multipliers, ram dividers etc.

Off Topic : What windows theme is that? It looks sweet.

be sure to increase the ram voltage to around 2.3/2.5 so it can handle the stress

Be careful i wouldn't recommend cranking the volts on the ram that high unless its been tested for that sort of voltage. Most ram gets a bit unhappy at about 2.4volts, even with a basic heat spreader. Consider a ram slot fan system if you believe it to be the ram causing limitation.

I'd say a mismatch between ram, ht and cpu clocks is the most likely cause of failure.

I have done some searching but as I said, this board has ALOT of settings under the overclocking area and I am just scared to jack somthing up lol. :wallbash:

    For the theme-
Its one of the styles for the bbLean shell replacement. :hip:

Edit: If you look at this Page, at the third picture down, its the nb -> Sb freq and other like settings that are throwing me way off.

Ok then I'll give you a small step by step guide:
Firstly set these settings in "Overclocking" part of the bios (After setting "AI tuning" to manual)

    1. Set the "CPU Frequency" to 200(mhz)
    2. Set the "Memory clock frequency" to 200(mhz) (Or DDR400 if shown in DDR speeds)

Doing this will allow your Memory and CPU frequency to run parallel to each other.

    3. Now set the "CPU<->MB HT speed" to x3 (You may also have to set the other two "NB-->SB Ht speed" and "SB-->NB HT speed" to x3 but I'm not entirely sure as usually theres just one HT speed/multiplier setting....)

    4. Now set the "CPU multiplier" to x11

Now go back to the AI tuning screen and select "DRAM Configuration" here you should set up your RAM timings to the second SPD table in your CPU-Z dump which is 4-4-4-11, 15, 2T (I've written that short but just go by the second SPD table on CPU-Z for full details.

So now your pretty much set to go, save those settings then re-enter the bios and start increasing the CPU frequency, in something like 5mhz increasements. After each increasement try to boot into windows and run something like super pi 8m or SP2004. when it starts to become unstable (Asuming it's under 266mhz) try increasing the CPU voltage, the max safe voltage I'd say is around 1.55v any more and your really looking at some better cooling first. If you manage to get the CPU frequency higher than 266mhz then you may need to lower the "Memory clock frequency" to something like 166 or DDR333.

Hope this helps and good luck :thumb:
