    Hi all,

I have a Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard and I am looking for better heatsink as the current setup is a crappy & small heatsink. It averages 60C to 68C for just idle which is too hot.

Which one shoud I go for? I have a budget of about £20.

    Thanks all.

That's quite an old board. Have you tried changing the thermal paste? It is very likely that the current paste has gone bad and therefore conducts much worse than some proper paste.

Yes, while it's an old board, it still works and I don't really fancy splashing out cash on new mobo & cpu! :)

I think I changed the paste last year but it didn't make any difference...

Not that it will make a difference to your cpu temp issue but I found my motherboard temps were always very high with that board so I re-timmed the boards heatsinks and it made the world of difference.

Dabs Outlets is selling it for £15 brand new with free P&P.

Unless you are suggesting that gelid tranquillo is better than this freezer 7 pro?

    Thansk for your help.

The freezer 7 pro is pretty old now and the tranquillo is definitely better.

My daughter has a freezer 7 pro on my old 955 cpu and it does the job but its warmer than I'd like and fairly noisy when pressed too.

I believe the tranquillo is fairly large though, what case have you got?

    Good point...

The case I'm using is Coolermaster Elite 330, so might be a tight fit... if I got the maths right!

The same case my daughter is using and my son strangely enough.

My son is using a cooler master 212 and it does fit but the side panel is touching the top of the cooler and makes the panel bulge ever so slightly (talking about 1mm). The height of the 212 is reported as 158.5mm and the tranquillo is 153mm so technically it should fit, may be the usualy issue of fouling the motherboard heatsinks but you never find these things out until you buy.

The other issue to consider is whether you would be able to orientate the cooler so that it can be blowing into your rear exhaust fan, AMD's stupid non symetrical mounting system has cought me out a couple of times like that, namely with the titan fenrir.

Thanks, will investigate Gelid Tranquillo more further.

You mentioned that if I spent more than £20, I would get free delivery...but when I checked, it doesn't offer me free delivery? Unless you're thinking of another website?

Cheers for your help so far!
