I have recently upgraded my components but still only have a Z68 motherboard

    I have the following :-

    i7 Ivybridge 3770K
    Corsair H100 Cooler
    Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
    16GB 1866MHz Corsair Vengeance Ram
    Palit 4GB GTX 680
    Crucial M4 256GB SSD + Seagate 2tb+3tb hdds
    Asus Xonar D2X PCIe soundcard

I'm looking at upgrading to one of the Maximus boards, I don't fancy the V Gene as its a matx and the space on the board looks limited.

My question is whats the major differences between them?

I do prefer the Asus boards but if anyone has an opinion on any others and why?

Will the formula be as quick as the others? How good is the thunderfx? Would it be as good as the Xonar? I'm guessing not.

I'm currently overclocked to 4.5 but wouldn't mind trying a little further.

    any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks
