    Hey guys,
I have an HP Slimline ITX board in my current build. The model is the 'HP' ASUS MOCA_AR Calcite.

    It supports:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7x00 (Merom)
Intel Core 2 Duo T2x00 (Yonah) up to T2700
    Intel Core Solo T1x00 (Yonah)
    Intel Celeron M 4x0

I'm wondering if there was a very similar board that ASUS produced for mainstream consumption that I could maybe use the BIOS from to enable my board to fully support the t5300 CPU that I am using..

(The CPU works in the board although it isn't listed as supported, same with the T2080 Pentium Dual Core cpu that I was using previously. I am however probably missing some functionality and there maybe a performance degradation)

You can't generally usually inter-swap the BIOS on any board because they are coded specifically for the hardware within. Because it's a niche board I would not have expected a retail version of it. I also think it's too old school now too: no 479Ms are even listed on any of the ASUS sites now

Aw damn. I can't use the HP bios update as my system doesn't meet spec apparently (not vista, not a fully supported cpu i assume)

    Thanks for your help though!

    Moca-ar Bios and CPU compatibility.

    Hi Confusis,

The T2080 I had worked fine and was recognized and there were no error messages.
I'm not sure what bios revision I am on, but I did check and it is not the latest.

I have used T7200, T2080 and T2250 and none have thrown an error on boot.

I'm kicking myself for throwing away a copy of Vista, I have the same problem cant get the mobo to update bios.

If I get a copy and get it working I will let you know and you can BT a copy of vista or I can mail one to you.

Let me know if you figure out a win7 or dos bios update trick!

    Thanks,

    Cyborg

Tried everything in Windows 7, basically I gave up! I did manage to extract the driver file from the HP installer, so I could do that manually if I wished. Have moved on to a new build though :D

    Confusis -

What Bios versions do you have?

    I Have 3.07 and 5.12

3.07 Works ok, but there is no speedstep, my proc is always at 2.0GHz and ~1.25 Volts
Resuming from s3 in mac OS results in system freezing after a few minutes esp if playing video (not sure if this is bios related but it is what I am trying to fix).

5.12 Bluescreens Windows 7 and leaves me with no ethernet in MacOS X 10.6.7 but speedstep works for the 1.5minutes the board works in windows, 1.0GHz and ~0.85 Volts.

I could try reinstalling win 7 after the bios update but I only use the computer as a Mac.

I am Using AFUDOS and I extracted the 5.12 rom from the HP installer using winrar.

Do you still have your moca-ar? What is your new project?

    Cheers,

    Cyborg
