Hardware Asus ROG Strix Impact Review

There's something wonky with that first picture: for an ambidextrous mouse, it looks distinctly asymmetrical in the first image

I think ASus need to add a few more bits of branding to their stuff, too. Now everything is not only ASus, but ROG too, and not just ROG but ROG Strix as well

 

yeah, the camera was off centre slightly =( I realised after I had taken all the pictures and it was the last one to be edited - typical. It symmetrical though! (and they say a camera can't lie)

 

Companies like Asus need to be careful that they don't start letting their products such as this undervalue the real premium offerings they have that carry the same brand logos such as the ROG stuff. Slapping a ROG logo on mediocre products is a poor short term strategy.

 

I was expecting an ITX Z270 board. Damn it!

 

Yeah, me too. That's why their naming convention needs sorted out - too much confusion with the same product name being applied to too many different products.

 

Don't worry. When I saw the email about the sample, I thought it was a motherboard too!

Asus are losing the plot, they think THE BRAND justifies THAT price tag?!?

It's like covering faeces with chocolate powder and declaring it to be palatable.

 

Seriously, no side buttons for use, reload etc etc. I would seriously prefer a £5 mouse with side buttons than a £50 one without...WHAT A POXY OVERSIGHT ASUS.

 

I do think ASus have lost the place a bit recently with some of the ROG stuff that they've been shovelling out. It's premium price but not necessarily premium quality or features.

 

11/10 most disappointing ratio of "review title potential : actual product"
