    you're assuming the board is the 'right' way up... the rear IO or at the top of the photo, putting the PCI-E slots under the big 'ASUS Concept Motherboard' label

    Then I see no point in it. You still have to buy both a new motherboard and new CPU in total. The only difference is with this board that you buy one now and one later rather than both at the same time. That seems kind of silly as prices often drop over time.

    Wait what? Can you use the two CPUs at the same time?

    Notice the God Bless Japan on the top right corner of the board.

    I have 12gig of ram just because the empty slots were irritating me so much. I'd have a mental breakdown if I bought this board.

    You shouldn't think that way.
    Using 1 bank per channel is considered better for system stability and ram also stays much cooler.

    First thought it's a new dual cpu board. After looking at the pictures couldn't figure out what it was. New thought what case will it fit ?

    is it just me or does this reek of compatibility issues. It's almost like they know there is going to be an issue with the LGA2011, so you stick the CPU sockets on one board so that you will still be able to use older applications.

    X79 = LGA 2011
    X68 = Effectively a cross between P67 and H67, you have the option to use the built in HD Gfx 2000 or 3000 with Quick Sync, and you have a new feature, SSD caching. LGA 1155 of course

    Wrong
    X79 is for 2011
    X68 is for 2011
    Z68 is the hybrid P67/H67
