    This is the new "VirtualLink" standard for VR headsets, that was announced last month.
    It's capable of providing all the power & video bandwidth needed by the next generation of VR headsets. (Maybe even the current ones if Oculus & HTC offer a replacement cable).

    GPU prices have officially departed planet sanity.

    Does Nvidia have some ulterior motive in actually wanting to kill the PC gaming market, or something?

    Asus, MSI, Gigabutt and so on are allegedly sitting on tons of unsold old cards because they ramped up production during the last breath of GPU mining, so it may well be that Nvidia inflated the price of the new ones so the old ones retain a value above paperweight.

    Too expensive for what it brings to the table is what it will be like. At least that's my guess.

    So the 2080 will have 60 million-bazillion RTX-OPS and will be 1k USD/GBP/EUR? The 2080 Ti has 78 trillion-plus-one RTX-OPS and will be what? 1.5k? 1.7k? There has to be a bigger picture we're not seeing right now. Maybe it really is like G-Master Halfacree said here:

    At least that'd make some kind of sense. A pretty twisted kind of sense, mind you.
