Okay, here is my dilemma. I have a S2E board with none of the stock heatsinks, and I want to use the board as a secondary folding rig. The original heatsink/pipe/mass of copper was "misplaced" (read: thrown away :wallbash:) and the combination of chips is rather unique, so I can't just whack any aftermarket NB/SB cooler on this board.

If you're not familiar with the chip layout, there are 3, one under each square in the following pic:

Yeah, sorry about the pink, but when Asus picks their colors by grabbing a handful of Skittles there's only so many others that will stand out. Anyway, my problem is the chip (SB200, FWIW) sitting between the PCI-E slots. As you may or may not be able to see, there is only a single push pin anywhere near that chip, and if I epoxy a heatsink to it I can pretty much rule out ever using a dual slot graphics card in the slot above it.

The only waterblock I could find ANYWHERE in the US (besides the Aquacomputer one which is never in stock) will cause the same dual slot issue.

I would much rather air cool the entire board, simply due to the cost watercooling, but I can't find anything else that will work besides the blocks linked to above. I'm getting a little desperate, and I really don't want to buy a new board if I don't need to.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Ebay. Bit expensive, though.

I have the same board, and think it's awefull, and as far as i'm concerned, faulty. I would be happy to ship to the US if you wanted to as a last resort. If you can't find any other way, let me know, but please be patient, as i'm going to be in France later on today till next thursday, and will be internet free.

I did see that one as well, and I'm not sure why he thinks it's worth more after he uses it for a month. I would also really prefer to air cool if at all possible, but I'm not sure if that will be an option :sigh:

At the same time, I could just buy a new board for less money than I would have to put into getting this one up and running :wallbash:

I agree completely, and we're far from the only ones. While looking for coolers for this board, I came across quite a number of threads discussing whether or not Asus should offer a refund to those who bought this "faulty" board. There are not many places that could have been worse to place that SB200 chip, especially with some cards exhausting directly onto it.

That is very (very very) generous of you, but I think for either: (1) the price involved in watercooling this ****ing chipset or (2) shipping from the UK, it would just about be worth my time and money to get a different board. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Either way, thanks for the input guys, but if I can't find an air cooling solution I'm probably getting a different board.

See? this is what happens when I leave a comment open and walk away from my desk.

That's not a particularly bad idea, I'll see what they have to say. Thanks!

*Edit* They're asking for S/N and the like, so I'll have to do it when I get back home. Stupid work
