News Asus takes aim at handset market

Maybe you have an ASUS mobo, or possibly an ASUS GFX card. You may even have an ASUS laptop or PDA. How about an ASUS mobile phone? This from the Inquirer

THE TAIPEI TIMES reports that giant Taiwanese vendor Asustek has designs on the mobile phone market.

The big original design manufacturer, says the Times, is targeting the handset sector and wants a chunk of the action to the tune of 10 per cent.

It already designs personal digital assistants, and, the article claims, is the top computer brand in the country.

It already has two mobile phones on the market, and it seems it sees this as a lucrative market.
