The Xonar DS was one of the sound cards tested in May 2010 Custom PC. Does anyone know if it has windows 7 32 bit drivers yet?. I have tried the Vista driver tha came with the card but my PC does not like it. I find there appear to be others with a similar problem. The test set up was not mentioned in the test summary Can anyone enlighten me please? No mention on the Asus site of W7 software that I can see The Xonar DX I have on another PC works perfectly in W7 64
have you tried the Asus site from another angle? http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=wcFuNdxM0I4Sf10X -> downloads -> windows 7. the driver Vista softwares are really not worth trying.
Thanks all. After a bit of delving into various websites I got it working. Nice card now I can use it. Thanks both of you. Apparently Asus have not yet publicly announced the W7 software for this card. Anyone loading the Vista software supplied with the card can find they get screen freezes. I like Asus kit but wish they were a bit smarter on windows 7 cards
Um, did you even check the link wuyanxu gave you? The win 7 drivers are right there on the 'download tab'. Both x32 and x64. I don't understand the need to "go to several websites"
Even if they do make a driver for it, don't hold your breath on it worthing smoothly. My Xonar D2 is being a total cowbag under W7x64, it crashes skpe and all sorts if I try and use it too much. Google revealed a plethora of similar complaints for other models. 64-bit support doesn't seem to be Asus' forté.
I've had no issues with my xonar DX on windows 7 pro 64 bit. I can't remember what I did but I never had issues with drivers or anything with the card.
Nope. Xonar drivers work great for some and awful for others. I've had plenty of problems too, as have many on the ASUS forums. It's a great card when it works, but when it doesn't it's frustrating as hell because of the lack of support or even just a lack of things to play around with when troubleshooting. Also note that you and I are both using the PCI versions of the cards (D1 and D2), which seem to receive less attention and fewer updates. I got the PCI version because my previous motherboard (680i) was one of those that was prone to glitches with the Xonar DX, but now I wish I had just gone for the PCI-E version.
