Del Toro + Cameron + Lovecraft = EPIC WIN! http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/07/29/del-toro-and-cameron-set-to-climb-mountains-of-madness/ I'd say that the 3D would be the only downside, but as Jimbo is onboard I'd expect emersive Avatar-esque 3D, rather than 'Lookit! Lookit! We're throwing stuff at the audience!' 3D Conflicting reports over it being a done deal though... *Fingers Crossed*
Lovecrafts description of the Elder Things in this story was what hooked me to his writing. Del Toros Hellboy film is what caught me eye, regarding his filming. Fingers crossed for this film to get finished and released.
Ermm, bad news folks... http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayl...onfirms_at_the_mountains_of_madness_is_dead/#
When was that posted? I don't see a date. although, the last news I saw about it wasn't much better... http://www.imdb.com/news/ni8371287/
I Found a link to the posting on IMDB (below), it was time stamped about an hour before I posted the link so its from about three hours ago. http://www.imdb.com/news/ni8375998/ Its very dissapointing to say the least, this one promised a great deal and now we'll never see what Guillermo had in mind for this, not much else to say other than damn, bugger and blast.
The best thing about capitalism is that it focuses on what will make a profit. The worst thing about capitalism is that it focuses on what will make a profit.
I don't know why you like that film. As soon as the special effects explode out of the dog, and every time they appeared afterwards, I just stopped being able to take it seriously.
Stop the press!! According to AICN, whilst the project may be on the table, its not dead yet:- http://www.aintitcool.com/node/48802
