I can't believe I actually got to post this first. Usually micb or someone beats me to it. hehe Looks like mainly fixes for games and such in the release notes. No mention of performance increases. I'll let y'all know if they give any increase/decrease of any sort.
effin hell, not more drivers Means I've gotta re-run lots of tests all over again wonder what's been improved
bigZ...don't bother. At least that's my 0.02. I haven't said this about a release of Catalysts in a long time.... Unless y'all are experiencing the problems with the games mentioned in the release notes, I wouldn't really waste my time on these drivers. Here's what I observed: Aquamark3: Total score went done about 100 pts. 3dMark2001SE: score went down a little more than 100 pts 3dMark03: Score went down a little...but I would say was within normal test fluctuations. Bottom line....I think I'll go back to my Cat 4.3's.
I've got an ATI wide review going on at the moment, it's only right to run the latest drivers I run cat 3.10 on my 24/7 OS (win2k SP2), they work, and I can't be bothered changing drivers. But for my review OS (WinXP with the latest service packs and updates) I have to use what is current, for obvious reasons.
Well I reckon I can understand that then. I like that link Death Company. Do they update that everytime the new Cats come out? If so....added to favorites. Also it's nice to see what I found confirmed.
