News ATI hit back at cheating claims

    CANADIAN graphics firm ATI has slammed reviewers for suggesting that it's using optimising "cheats" to show better performance for its products.

    We suspect the fell hand of another nameless graphics firm may be whispering not-so-sweet nothings into some reviewers' ears.

    ATI said in an official statement to me earlier this week that it took the "allegations very seriously and [ATI] are distressed by the implication that we are cheating our customers".

    The games the allegations relate to are Unreal Tournament 2003, Halo new Microsoft DirectX 9 ported from Xbox and the Aquamark 3 DirectX 9 test.
