    Hi,

    I installed my new x1950xt last night and to be honest was very dissapointed with it.
    I actually lost 500 points in 3dmark05 compared to my x1950pro :miffed:
    The both Stalker and Test Drive Unlimited both felt 'laggier' too.

    Did a bit of digging and it seems that the problem is the Ati HotKey Poller. If it's been disabled (i had ati tool trays do this by default) then the card will retain it's 2d clocks (500/594) in any 3d app.

    So now i've had ati tool tray keep it enabled and now the clocks run at the proper 625/900 in 3d apps.

    So 3dmark05 scores
    X1950Pro - default clocks 580/1400 - 9812
    X1950XT - 2d clocks 500/1188 - 9450
    X1950XT - 3d clocks 625/1800 - 11028

    So problem solved :p

    He's going AGP-> PCI-e with DDR1->2 as well.

    Interesting stuff really, one of those mysterious driver quirks that seem to crop up once in a while.

    It's a PCI-E X1950Pro sorry. I upgraded because i saw it cheap on microdirect friday night. It was £117 incl vat and i couldn't resist at that price:D Especially since it's a good retail bundle including a game.
