Personaly, I absolutely hate the catalyst control center. Every time I install the software, it crashes the first few times I open it, never remembers my settings, keeps going to defaults that don't work, and just looks bad. Control panel for me all the way.

Why did they go with such a lucky number though? Are 13 updates really necessary?

I dont care for it much either, i swear it offers less functionality than the normal control panel.

i always get the update without the control centre, its slow and ugly and the extra features arnt worth the crashes.

these drivers got any improvements for older cards like my 9800XT...or should i just stop bothering...

Me, I've never bothered with the Control Center either; seeing that there's no 5.12 that includes the Control Panel instead is dissapointing. The Control Center may be "newer," but to me, it's offered nothing above what the Control Panel itself brought. Perhaps if ATi bothered to actualyl include a comprehensive profiling system with the Control Center, it might be worth using. For now, I see it as little more than a less efficient version of the Control Panel designed to specifically compliment Microsoft's default "My First GUI" scheme for Windows XP.
