Rant ATi Trade-up Program Not Equal Between Canada and US in Dollar Amounts

I guess they haven't heard that the US dollar is equal to the Canadian dollar now.



Not that they offer much of a trade up program to start with anyway.

Welcome to Being-Screwed-Town. This is where all 60,000,000 of us Brits have lived for the last forever years or so, and you're just on the outskirts by comparison to us. I'm afraid you won't get a great deal of sympathy - everyone agrees that it's sucky, but with us all getting screwed over so incredibly badly over the years (like having to pay 2x as much as you guys do for exact same products) not many people are going to be concerned about £15 of difference

Yeah, those rotten son's of bitches. How dare they not vote in a president so utterly indept that he tanks the largest economy in the world, destroying the value of it's currency so completely that even the countries own rapstars want paid in the next economic block over's currency. Damn Canucks!

But isn't it true that, like us, the Canadians (God Bless) would have paid more (in US$ equivalent) for both the old and the new cards? So, same as we Brits would be, they're entitled to a bigger trade-in.

Actually the Canadian $ is dropping fast lately.

I'm sure I can find just as many examples where Canadians are getting a raw deal compared to the USA (and we're more often aware of it).

 

I think I was commenting on how out of date their program was... is. The only card you can upgrade to is a Radeon® X1650 Pro 512MB AGP for $149. So, I figured they hadn't adjusted there rebate either.





It should have been "Blame Canada" a musical or some such that spoofs how Americans screw up and then blame Canada.

welcome to the club.... here stuff is in general even more expensive than in the UK (thank God I have an uncle there in the UK and i will soon ask him to send stuff from there )......

 

we dont even get trade-ins over in the UK either :/

 

I just wish that now that the dollar is in parity (or close to) with the us dollar that things would cost more or less the same on each side of the border. especially things like online game accounts where it shouldn't be a problem to adjust their billing system.
