Try running all ram timings all on auto on 2t command rate and see what happens...

I jsut got my x1900xtx, have not installed it yet as I have to get a new PS for the system I am putting together.

What is a good PSU that is reasonably priced that will do well with this card and a fully loaded system? Here is what I have been able to put together thus far.

    5- 500GB SATA Drives
    2- CD/DVD Drives
    1- Floppy
    1- X1900XTX
    4- 512MB Mem Sticks
    3- Drive Bay Coolers
    5- Fans

As you can see I spent most my money building this system, now I have a 450W PSU that is nowhere near 30A on the 12V side. I have around $100 to spend give or take a few bucks. I looked up a couple mentioned by KingDavies, but they appear to only be available from the UK and I am in the US and looking for something that would get here a bit faster.

    Thanks guys!

For the X1900 series I would strongly recommend the Enermax Liberty 620W ELT620AWT if you can afford it and if not the Enermax Liberty 500W ELT500AWT but make sure that 500W is enough to run your system before purchasing. They are both modular have 2*12v rails each capable of doing 22A

P.S Do you think that the 500W one will be enough for my system (specs in signature) as I will soon be purchasing one and don't fancy spending an extra £30 on the 620W one if 500W will be enough

I'm not sure tbh, since I've run a dual rail PSU that totlas over 30a so I think you should be ok :) Also that PSU on tigerdirect looks pretty nice :thumb:

Get one with 2 rails. You don't need one rail to have a current over 30A, if you have two. Because the current on each rail is used by less items.

    Hey guys,

I've been struggling with a similar problem since I got my new pc, it has an ati x1900 gfx card, 2gig ram, dual core x2 4200 processor, 525w power supply etc etc.

And i just can't work out whats wrong (crashes, bsods at random points, mainly during gameplay), at first i thought power supply but 525w should really be fine, and its got those 12w rail type things :worried:

im gonna try that memory bios tweak, but i was just wondering if anyone has worked this out or has any other ideas?

    tis very very annoying :miffed:

    cheers

What motherboard do you have, and what make and model is your PSU, how many Amps on the 12v rails?

direct from the site i bought it off:

power: HIPER 525W Performance ATX v2.0 Power Supply
    mobo: RD480-A939 ATI Xpress 200 ATX Skt939 4xDDR LAN

not sure about this 'amps on rails' craziness tbh :worried:
