News ATI's Radeon X1800XT available next week... maybe

    Now didn't ATI promise not another paper launch?
    So much for that...

    Anyways, considering the time difference between this and nVidia's 7-series, I'm downright dissapointed with the performance, availability notwithstanding. Throw in the fact that SLi doesn't need a special, more expensive card to run and how availability coupled with the laws of supply and demand already have both the 7800GT and GTX well below MSRP, and I'd put this as another clear win for nVidia.

    Coming from a former ATI fanboy, for the record. Now I'm much more open-minded to both, but I can explain why 2+2=5 so cost/performance analysis is a piece of cake :thumb: Having said that, ATI would need a very impressive card for me to convert back, but that's simply because I've got a $100 waterblock that sure won't fit anything red (and one that would is another $100 or so)
