im having a wierd problem with my good old Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer. one day i reboot and after a little usage i noticed i was getting no sound. i checked the sound properties and saw it said no sound device installed. i figured the card came loose so i shut down, removed the card, booted back up without the card, made sure windows still knew there was no card. i shut back down, reinstalled the card and booted back up. i checked the properties and it still said no card. windows didnt say anything like found new hardware. i download the updated driver setup program from creative labs and ran it. i got a error message saying the card needs to be installed properly before i can install drivers. the card is installed properly but just wont detect. i put the card in a different computer and it detected right away and worked fine. im really scracting my head over how to get it working on my main system again. :sigh:

try a different pci slot in your pc, also try cleaning the inside of the pci slot with some compressed air.

try booting into safe made and looking if there are any audigys listed there, if there are, delete them. then try reinstalling. also make sure onboard sound hasn't been turned on or anything (maybe from a bios flash?)

Your EEPROM on the Audigy might have got corrupted so it has an incorrect PCI ID. This
    Might help you
