I had to switch cases the the day as my curent case started to rattle(hmmmm ohwell) but when i was unpluggin the audio i accidently hit the plug on the io plate(built in audio) and i had forgot to turn the speakers off :wallbash: so i heard the static noise in speakers then nothing. WHen i turned my comp back on i got some really bad static from the speakers thinking the speakers were the problem i changed speakers. For awhile the new speakers worked fine but now all the sudden they are getting feedback to. It is the most annoying thing every all i hear is a lite hummmmmm all the time it sucks. Does anyone know how i could fix this i have a sound card i could use but I dont want to waist all that time installing it if there is an easier way to fix it.

Oh yea right now im using the built in audio on a abit nf7 motherboard. Thanks

So it hums with the onboard? What kind of speakers are they?

I've never experienced any problems with bumping an audio jack on an I/O plate, but you may experience something if the speakers were turned up way to full or something. You said other speakers did it too? I dunno. Try the other soundcard, and try the speakers in a different rig.

I can't imagine how doing what you did would cause any problems, but your problem sounds like a bad signal ground connection to me. The only thing I can think of is that when the jack hit the io panel it caused a large spike to the amplifier in your speakers and maybe this spike was large enough to do some damage. I'd try a different pair of speakers just to make sure.
