Well since i got a replacement Xbox 360 for Christmas, i bought the arcade version since i already had a hard drive. Since i don't want to buy a tv im using a monitor, and i want to use the line in on my computer for the audio but vista wont let me. line in shows up on recording device and the meter reacts when sound comes from the xbox but no sound threw the speakers, any help would be Appreciated, thanks.
Make sure you have some volume on the "line in" in Windows. Or is there even a setting for that in Vista? I recall at least XP has that.
Right click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Playback Devices" Select your speakers > properties > levels tab > ensure line in is not muted.
I didn't see it in my levels? Dose it have to be enabled or something? I didn't have any problem with this in xp.
I couldn't get mine working on integrated sound. I had to buy an audigy2 to enable line-in passthrough.
If you're using integrated HD audio. Get the latest realtek HD audio drivers. Those should add all those options if you're using stock drivers.
It's the inter grated audio on my Jetway XBLUE-N78V, It was a new board when i got it so it didn't have any newer drivers in downloading drivers from jetway and i'll try then once i get home, hope it solves the problem. Thanks every one. If it doesn't work I'm sure i have an old sound card around i could put in it if there is any room in my micro any more lol.
