Hi. I started to do some modification on GB Aurora case with removing cages so I can put reservoar on the floor of the case. There will be some paint job too - I am wondering if black mat over that aluminium would be a best choice or maybe black - red combination? Here is my H2O part list and some case pics and work in progress...
Subscribing to this one. I have the GB Aurora 3D, so I'm interested to see what you do with yours. My WC loop was amateurish and messy but I like it. Good luck with the build. Black and red colour scheme almost always looks nice, but perhaps only certain items in the case, such as the bays and then the rest of the interior matte black?
colours Maybe black - yellow scheme good as black-red ? I have an idea to cover a mobo with a perforated sheet of metal coloured in black so no components except vga and cpu water block couldn't be seen . I think except good looking case this could help with cable arrangement also - what you think of this idea?
Update #1 I was working a little so here are the results. This is all homework with little tools and little time so give me a credit. You got to know this is my 1st modding ever so be patient with updates. I am wondering why not to mount a water pump verticaly on the backside so it can be placed next to the radiator. Is it bad for the pump lifetime? Please comment a placing of reservoar and the pump.
A job is done now let's start with something.. Hi all, I have had different jobs over a past month like wineyard, wood for the winter etc. so there was a little time to drill and H2O. So yesterday I found a few hours to put H2O system together with two tasks - testing outside and positioning inside a case. Here you can see I have painted a cooler - maybe too shiny for my taste but there was no other choice for yellow colour from this paint manufacturer. Also I put some soft material wondering if it will reduce vibrations from fans. Next was working in the case - where, how & what and then the tubing. I must say this is an ordinary plastic tubing from marketstore. It was good for testing but I'll buy some more usable and more flexible in future. This pump rubber game was not what I planed but was not sure where to put a pump so this was like a sketchup for measure a tubing lenghts. Testing... After party. Not bad to mention is that I done what I have heard before to wash up a system with destiled water specially the reservoar and then throw it after few hours working. See this when there was not anticyclon inside a reservoar... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0vV8bkZPqc I have never seen such video before so I hope this will be nice for a begginers like myself. Cheers till next H2O session.
continued Hi, no time no mods...that's the way of living this days, but something moves anyway.... I took some time to star something with this . It was a tool works mainly - drilling, cutting etc. I made an aluminum shroud for a H2O cooler - very soft material to work on without a proper tools. (pics here soon), I have some doubts with order of cooler and fans but at the end decided to put a cooler on the bottom of the case with fans on top of it pulling hot air inside a case, how about it? I got some 4 x 3-Pin Y cables so I can connect all of three fans together to one pot of fan speed controller and to regulate a speed . There is limit of 1Amp per channel but I think it would be ok. Fans are SCYTHE Slip Stream 120mm 1900 rpm,SY1225SL12SH, 37.00dBA but I 'll try to use it on lower speed ~1300 /min . I plan to measure a power consumption of one fan and found out how about three of them. http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/slip-stream-120.html Furthermore, I've cut a few openings in rear side of case for better cable management and protected edges with some U-channel rubber protection (pics here soon), Next I cut some holes on the front panel of case - 4 x 5,25" and in front of a front fan and made some mesh for it. http://www.imagesforme.com/show.php/986462_front1.JPG http://www.imagesforme.com/show.php/986464_ledizrez.JPG (my pics here soon) Question - what color of mesh would you prefer - black or yellow? I decided not to use a front case doors and no 5,25" devices - is it smart or stupid decision? I got a Fractal Design Anti-Vibration Kit. It could be useful to make a fans, hdds and a water pump less noisy. I also got yellow Anti-Kink Coils. I need everything yellow obviously I need soem help with placing of HDDs. Also what other parts would you paint in yellow? by Water cooling: Mods (work in progress):
