I played a beta even last month and to be honest it kinda sucked. There has been nothing good around recently since the beginning of the end of WoW.

SWG has completly broken down to a shadow of its former self. Other new MMORPG's completly suck and I feel that the makers just rushed to get into this MMORPG bandwagon.

A few to look out for though are age of conan and the one im looking most forward to is hero's journey www.herosjourney.net
screenshots look amazing, shame its not out till atleast the end of the year :(

I have to say: very well thought out game. I'm definatley pre-ordering it.

Unfortunatley, I didn't get as much time in as I wanted to on the beta, but thankfuly I managed to slip into a town and find a group of people whom were talking about their experiences. I joined in and took a couple screenshots while we were all sitting around waiting for the end. Click for big.

Been in the beta for 6 months or so, after about the first 6-10 hours I started forgetting it existed (we were only allowed on for 2 hours at a time back then, so it stretched it out too) its improved a lot in that time, but somehow its still failing to twig that "something special" feeling that keeps me coming back to a game.

Mind you, the time I spent on last weekend I didn't have to spend 90 seconds holding down the right mouse button to beat your average enemy (or like 30 minutes for a boss) which is what it was like till a few weeks ago (Think basically the accuracy scaling was way off, so classes that didn't have high combat stats just missed like mad unless fighting really easy stuff, that and bosses had ludicrous HP)
No this last weekend I just got the feeling my 20 shaman would have to try hard to die :hehe: (Resist, deflect, resist, deflect, Slaughter Bum strikes for 1 damage!)

NetDevil are good guys (well, jumpgate is(/was?) about as close as you can get to an "indie" mmo anyway) and it was about the first time before EVE where the economy made sense in an MMO and you felt your own skill at the game played more than a minor role in your success, can't help thinking they've gone in the opposite direction and made DAoC on wheels now though.

My other issue is more that the races for the most part seem like humans spouting trendy catch-phrases rather than anything particularly different to the norm.
