i made some avatars on stor.co.uk(or whatever the address was, but they won't work, coz they're too big or something...does that mean i have to resize them with PSP??? or what is it that i have to do???

Yeh, we've cranked the max size down to 100x100 recently, so the stortroopers don't work unless you crop them or resize them.

I know, its so bloody awkward, but why shrink the limits for the ones hosted on other webspace, surely they arn't a bandwidth issue.

Anyway, if your gonna resize one of those stor troopers make sure youve got it set to pixel resize and not bilinear resample etc otherwise it will go all blury

Or you could get cypher to do it, he really is a dear ;)
    (thanks cyph!)

AFAIK, vBulletin doesn't actually link to it, it grabs it from the site and puts it into it's avatar database.

vBuliton does that? I use XMB for my messageboard, and it goes and picks it up from wherever you specify (only reason I use XMB is because it is free with my webhost).

I have used XMB but its far far less advanced compaired to vB, the moderators control panel on vB is absolutely awesome compaired to XMB... I recommend phpbb for a free bulletin board... its almost as good as vB for administration, but, in some places, vB is a lot lot better ;)

I agree that XMB is not so advanced, but it is free, and it comes pre-installed.

Never have seen phpbb before, have to take a look.

    Signing out...

having used most bulletin boards i can confidently say that vB is the best, ubb has features but not the same speed.
Of the free message boards xmb used to beat phpbb imo, but since the release of phpbb2 the latest major release of xmb (1.6) is a bit of a damp squib :(
xmb has been majorly out classed... the only real problem i have with phpbb2 is the lack of custom titles by users like vB!

unfortunalty there ain't any good convertors of xmb to phpbb

there are other free bulletin boards out there worth a mention but phpbb2 outclasses them all :D
