    Hello, currently at the AVG 8 Release. Would any of you guys/girls like to ask any questions that I can put forward for the event?

    How much resources does it use compared to other anti viral programs such as NOD32 or AVAST! ?

    well just found out that www.dsgaming.co.uk has a rootkit installer embeded.

    Very well found as kaspersky has not actually detected the rootkit that it has installed?

    I would be interested in the next gen AVG to update silently it is very annoying in the middle of an all-nighter match online when it cuts out to automatically update itself....

    Well I would like it to auto update because I am a lazy sod by nature :D but I would prefer it NOT to minimize my game and tell me that it is updating... then make me wait while it updates and the finally close, and I reload back to find my death count has gone up by ten.

    Will definatley mention it. You can actually download a trial for the version 8. Just installed on my Laptop through the talk and its actually quite good!

    I've just bought Internet Security 7.5 (with the CD too!), will this automatically update to 8 or have I wasted money on an older version?

    Love AVG...smashing program...and its FREE!!!! w00ts!

    Id like to know what they are doing to ensusre that its not starting to bloat, ie MS office/nero style.

    of course the free version is just ANTI VIRUS, not firewall, anti-spam etc etc. Shielder you will be able to get a free update to version 8. Just use the same key you have for the 7.5.

    Download the trial give it a go.


    AVG are not starting to bloat, its just new version of the same software. Complete new fresh design of the company basicly. It shows in a very nice product at the end

    Does is slow down Windows startup (when Windows loads, not the account load) like 7 did?

    AVG will update its self as if it was a normal Virus database update.

    It will ask you "Do you wish to Upgrade"

    Just asked that one for you.
