this is for all you people out there who use AVG on WinXP Pro.
Every now and again, our computers at work (running AVG, obviously) will popup a message saying it has found a virus in one of the system restore files, but I can't seem to navigate to it (maybe hidden in a registry file?) and when I run the AVG scan, it does not pick anything up, and then like 2 mins. later, I get the same popup again. I don't know if using the free version has anything to do with it. has anyone else experienced this problem, or know what to do about it? thanks

try deleting your old system restore checkpoints. i run AVg on XP pro and never got that virus. maby its a virus that infects system restore so that when you go to restore your infected again.

Go to Control panel > System, click the system restore tab, check the box to turn of system restore, click apply, click yes to the message that says all previous restore points will be deleted. Then go back and turn it on again.

    Hope this helps.
