Thanks man. Ya, that was the original idea, and this suppose to be a prototype, but... it will probably never happen. I even struggle a lot with manufacturing Tenuis. Not enough time, resources, end other excuses... News about this ECS modmen 2003... sorry 2013 competition. B2 didn't even make it to second round (top 10) ... oh well Anyway, here is how side panels were made: First is the model/plug and I usually start with piece of extruded styrofoam, to get a rough shape than few layers of body filler and a lot of sanding to get as close to shape needed. towards the end of this process I spay it with primers of different colors to better see my high/low spots when sanding. finally, last layer of primer and glossy black to get smooth finish. next is a mould. plug gets anti-stick treatment (chemical release agent and wax), than a couple of layers of gel coat and glass reinforcement . Once mould was fully cured I removed (butchered out ) the plug and used it to make an actual part. unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the actual process of laminating :/ but, here is the second side panel after removed from a mould and trimmed. a bit messy as I used a lot of wax, but usable.
Excellent job on that Peter, really nice. Love the curves & the tilt 50/50 heat rises/standard style, smart & good looking.
