ive got a very annoying problem..

    Specs:

    win xp
    sp2
    fx550 gfx
    512ddr
    2.5 amd

ok heres the prob, when i play dvd's or any other media in either windvd window media and a few other programs the color is messed up, hard to explain but looks like the reds greens and blue are to bright, now it did work before but suddenly stopped
i thought it was codecs so re-installed them, and gfx driver but nothing even after a format still the same

    works fine on gaming
    (maybe a Hardware fault?)

Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Quite a simple fix actually.

Right Click the Desktop -> Properties -> Settings Tab and Click Advanced -> The Tab with the nVidia logo -> Colour Correction then hit Overlay in the Apply Colour changes to drop down, finally select advanced mode out of the colour profile drop down. That should sort it for you. Enjoy

The wierd colours is usually down to you using a bad/wrong codec. Try using ffdshow.

I had a similar problem with my 6800GT - just playing back a dvd looked bad - kind of like low quality 8bit graphics, but games worked fine. I fixed by uninstalling the graphics drivers, all the codecs and then rebooting and installing the new drivers from the nvidia site, then reinstalling the codecs. tbh i think just uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers fixed the problem....
