incorporate a coffee mug depression in the board for your drink and it's perfect (could add a TEC to the beverage bit for heating and cooling aswell :D )

dutch, great mod, amazing actually, but i have a small concern about your motherboard - are you going to be providing any airflow for the heatpipe coolers? i know you put that blower above the vid cards but i don't think enough air will get to the fins to enable the 'pipes to work efficiently.

you could always just fit the fan that came with the mobo? unless you plan to WC the chipset too?

Interesting that you bring that up... I was just reading a few threads about that chipset... I'll get to it soon enough, but may just use the fan that came with the board... much as I would hate doing that... :D
    Too big for what? :naughty:

We're breaking ground on my new office in a few weeks, so there'll be plenty of room...

Oh, so THAT's what that meant. The thought of a monitor that's too big is so foreign to my thinking I didn't get it. I thought they were just talking about the stand, the font in the post, something, but not the monitor, surely. If I could, I've have a square room with a stealthed door and 4 projectors.

Judging by the way the office is setup, I am going to take a guess and say that you are a drafter? or some sort of contractor?

(Getting that by the angled tan piece to the left of the main chair)

Also, depending on how high the portion is where your monitors will sit, you can raise the screens up a bit from the "surfboard-base" and be able to use the surfboard as like a shelf. for Pictures, notes, desktop usb port for memsitcks, etc.

    Nice stand for monitors... :thumb:

Have you already done that keyboard, or is it still under construction?

    Keep up the good work!

Or machine one of the board sides out to make it look like the running board of a hot-rod.... would fit the theme nicely.

    wow...just wow

i like soulmage's suggestion about using more of the surfboards realestate... perhaps build a usb hub/ mem card reader into the board, not just put it on it

^^ Actually yeah. An just as he said that, a very simple idea of haveing a "hidden" door on the top to hide said ports if you would like me to do up a quick sketch and send it off :p

    Back to Plumbing...

O.K., I tried to reinvent the wheel... :D

The Delrin connector on the right was gonna be my stroke of genius... no hose clamps, no possible leaks, etc. Well, it didn't work. It took a dozen tries to make it just right, but in the end, you just can't put in three video cards all at the same time, so I scrapped the idea.

The stubby barb third from the left... it was just too long.

The barb on the far left was cut down from the one that's second from the left and that's what I ended up using...

So we end up with this... even the hose clamps had to be pared down... and the tubing had to be squared up on the belt sander (stuck a 1/2" bit in it to keep the shape) and had to be true to length by a gnat's arse... :D

Those two aluminum brackets are for the dome blower...

And if anyone knows of a source for a better 90 degree G-1/4" fitting for 1/2" tubing, please drop me a PM... I'm not too keen on this one but it fits and space is at a premium...

    Happy Easter... :hip:
