Tried putting these up on the last post.. But it didn't work uploading the photos.. But since i'll be having an underslung fan on the bottom of the case.. The feet needed extending. Instead of asking for custom feet, I'm planning on adding some colour to the outside of the build instead! Here's the feet without my add-ons: The roughly cut out with a dremel discs (will be lasered for the final pieces): Ok, so I didn't fully cut it out! It was taking too long.. And finally, here's a comparison pic: I feel that the little additions of colour will improve the look of the build quite a lot!
Sorry for the lack of updates.. It's been getting crazy hectic in my life with Uni deadlines! As far as this project is concerned.. I'll be making a mk.1 and mk.2 versions. (mk.1 being it built without the dvd mounted internally, mk.2 with it internal. This is because I need it in a transportable state to move it to my parents for the summer break! I will then finish the project and do a few updates!) So, the front panel which I was going to have cut by Parvum will be temporarily be filled with a cheap acrylic version (as i'm also thinking of getting my logo engraved/dual-colour in it) untill the end of the project. Also, the spray paint i've used rubs off REALLY easily.. Does anyone have a suggestion (bar re-spray the entire thing again) to help minimise this?
Update! I've nearly finished this project as far as I can go right now.. Just need to wait some (as of yet unreleased) parts to arrive! Following on from the last post.. Here's the temporary front panel: It looks VERY tacky and shiny, but the MNPCTech fan ring looks amazing with the orange! I got a spare part and started sanding it with fine grit (well, it's 400.. All I had!) to see how it looks when brushed: In other news, I've started work on the vanity cover/cable tidy/SSD mount: Here's an internal shot with ALL the internals (minus the vanity cover.. I really need custom cabling for this!) inside the case: The opposite side with the ODD bay(Ignore the panel bending, i've re-strengthened the panel!): But my favorite view? The fan LEDs glowing on the fan and reflecting on the fan grill! Next up for the project is: - Custom Cabling - Finishing the SSD mount/Shroud - Attaching the underslung 200mm fan for max airflow and cooling - Re-spray the ENTIRE thing with something that wont flake off! - Contact Parvum again (when I have more money) to get the front panel made, as I'm wanting to have my logo inlaid above the power button if possible - Maybe get a illuminated power switch instead - Attach internal led lighting Finish! Unfortunately, with my exams looming.. I can say that this will probably happen in about a months time!
Thanks I'm starting to think about getting a GPU back-plate and spraying it white, as it looks horrible seeing the GPU's rear.. Also, i'm putting a larger window in on the CPU side, as it'd look bolder. Although it would mean the case would become a bit of a dust magnet!
