I am in a band (I play bass!) but we need a name. At the moment we are just known as the 6th form band among friends. we have had a couple of ideas but cannot really decide on anything. We thought DeMontfort because this is the mental ward the lead singer was on when he had a breakdown, "aftershock debris" , "drastic reductions" , "absent Badger", "naff pink basket" (there is a sort of reason!), or adverse camber. we really like adverse camber but I have found another band called that so thats out the window. what does everyone think to these names? have you got any other suggestions? answers on a postcard or just below this post please. I suppose a little about the band would be helpful, we are a three piece that write/play our own stuff. our music is a mixture of heavy rocky type stuff, a bit punky and a bit metally, just whatever we are feeling like really! i likes that one. also would any of our resident foreigners (of the non english language variety!) like to translate absent badger into their native tongue, i'm curious as to what it would sound like!
whats wrong with: "6th form band" what type of music do u play? pop rock, metal, *shivers* nu-metal, etc. [edit] u already said, opp's. all i can say is don't go over the top with a name and try to have a name which in a way relates to the band or people will just hate it.
thats why we were thinking demontford (because it relates to us) but we don't actually like the name!

Section2 The others are way too clichéd/angsty. It also lends itself to a rather neat symettrical logo design...the 2 looking like a backwards S and all. *n
thats a good idea. Its also got a meaning for us because that was the act are lead singer was sectioned under did I mention that he scares me sometimes?!
