Ive got slackware 8.1 on a cd.

Ive got a dual pentium with a scsi HD and a SCSI cd-rom (adaptec controller) I try to rawrite the rootdisks and the thing pulls CRC errors, but only ever on the first install disk, ive downloaded the file from several different sources, but it still sucks the ****e. Does anybody know how to make a pheonix bios from 1995 boot from a cd-rom? or on how to make a scsi bus boot from a certain ID?

I don't have an answer to your real question.. but i do have a possbile solution to get around it for the time being.... i do 99% of my installs by using the SL network boot/rootdisk (i think its net.i) and have copies of the SL cd's stored on the HD of another server and have them each exported to NFS, this way i do all of my installs over NFS, no need to find the right cd version, a CD drive (and hope it can read burns) and then hope each boxcan boot from CD and all that jazz. And the installs really don't take too much longer to perform.
