I decided it was time for my boring, pine desk to get a new finish today, so I disassembled it, took it to the garage where I sanded it, stained it a nice, red color and gave it a couple of coats of laquer. While doing this, I started to think about mounting the TFT screen in a new way. I removed the stand on which it was mounted and noticed that it had holes for mounting it to a wall with screws. Since I didn't have a wall to mount the screen on (it stands in the corner), I had to create a "wall". I had some laminate cherry wood which would serve as a wall when mounted to the desk: The two top screws are those used to mount the actual TFT screen. The four screws in a zig-zag pattern are screwed into an existing part of the desk. Then I put everything back together, and it looked like this: In my opinion, the screen mounted on the cherry board, a bit raised from the desk looks good, and it gives me about 20cm of extra free space on my desk compared to when I used a stand for it. I also have a screw mounted at the lower part of the screen, with which I can control the tilt of the screen so it faces me perfectly. So whatcha think?
yep mines the same, do a clearout about every month. Then about a week later its attracted tonnes of stuff.
i do that too. i put all the stuff on my bed and think "where the F*#k is this going to go now?" lol i like my desk being clean tho, it makes it look so much nicer, even being a pine desk nice desk m8. now time to make a cherry frame for around the LCD
