Okay. I'm in the UK and am looking for a rheostat (potentiometer in the UK?) to control a LCD backlight. The LCD unit is 5V. The whole unit has a max power draw of 165 mA. The backlight is powered on seperate pins, so I wanna attach a little rheo to control the backlight brightness.

Does anyone know the code for the right type from Maplin?

Also, if they do the ones where you push the rheo in to toggle it on or off that'd be even leeter :D

I used the FX98 which are rated at 100 ohms, which I found to have a good control, there are four under the name of "loud speeker volume controls" in the index or "LS Control" on their computer, so you can pick and choose the rating you want.
