Hi I have an akasa eclipse 62. I know they sell a windowed panel but after lurking in these forums for a while now I'd like to get my hands dirty, so to speak.

My first mod will be the side panel window. After reading many a guide, I think I understand the basics. I do have a few questions though:

So far I've learned of 3 ways to mount the plexiglass to the panel.
    - silicon adhesive: http://www.twistedmods.com/article.php?artid=35
    - double side tape: http://www.twistedmods.com/article.php?artid=169&page=2
    - adhesive c-molding (or something similar).

This all looks a bit 'ghetto' to me. Ghetto-fab maybe, but ghetton nonetheless :blah: . Are those really the only way to mount a plexi window? I'm concerned especially with the double sided tape trying to get 'higher' than the cmolding... I can already imagine the gaps between the window and the panel... not to mention it would ruin all chances to acheive this effect: http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?pageID=412&Submit=Go&cID=319&topcat_search=1&form_keyword=

Any tips or links would be greatly appreciated!

    Tia,

    Steve

screws is one example, there are allso lots of other types of glue out there.

After some experimenting with glue, i would probably go for polyuretane glue, it takes hours to set, but it gives a good seal and is easy to work with, fairly strong too. Just see to it that it's not foaming polyuretane glue, that'll screw things up...

But won't that interfere with the c-molding? What I mean is, say you have cmolding in place, and you screw/glue/tape the window to the inside of the panel, won't the cmolding somehow 'distord' the prexiglass as it is pressed 'against' the molding?

Ideally, the plexi would be cut the same shape as the hole and somehow 'snap' inside without falling. No idea how that works but I saw a few reference to that on the net. Like this: http://www.cuttingedgecasemods.com/h2o/reservoir/tsunami/tsunami_window_reservoir.htm

Of course if the cmolding is not necessary then fine, but I'm not sure how my black alu case will look like after I jigsaw a chunk out of it.. can't imagine it will look laser cut at all... :(
