Windows BAT file problem

Hello everyone. The problem I have is that I can't open BAT files at all, the cmd doesn't even show up. I tried searching all over the internet for an answer but found nothing.

To be more specific: I double click a BAT file but does absolutely nothing, no cmd, no 'Open with', no error, no nothing. The icon isn't even a BAT icon I remember (exe with a gear inside), it's just one of those misc files icons. Right clicking it shows no option to run it, nor to run it with any other program. I am currently using Windows XP.

Check filetype association... where ever that is located for XP, I don't remember.

 

It's still BAT file.

 

what if you open up cmd and drag it in and run it, does it work then?

 

But is the association set to cmd still? Or what if anything is it set to open with by default?

 

@Deathtaker Doesn't recognize it either.

@lysol Type of file is BAT already, but there's nothing set by default to open it (As far as I see) and I can't find a way to set one.
