as i email a lot of images in my articles etc... i want to be able to resize a large amount of images so that they are of suitable size and are there for not to big to email. any there any programmes that can do this?
when you say resize, do you mean like by pixel size or by file size? www.winzip.com or www.winrar.com will compress your files, by images dont compress well you can create a batch resizing action in photoshop, point it to a dir and watch it whizz thru and resize them all for you...
if you want to batch resize images, i would recommend Photoshop, it has the ability to set up actions. and resizing is one of them. recently i had to resize mug shots of people in my company. 726 in total. I had to options Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. I started off in PSP, but it involved me having to to repeatedly do the same thing. Open the image, press Shift + S hit Enter, Ctrl + S. For every image. Pain it the butt. I asked a friend who is a graphic designer, and he pointed me in the right direction. And this was using Photoshop.
thats two for photoshop also with the actions, you can do other stuff as well, so it will do the same to all images, like add a watermark, autolevels, change dpi etc very useful tool in PS!
grab Irfan image viewer.. its the best freeware viewer, converter, resizer out there that will do batch resizes and converts as well as batch renaming.. very usefull little (less than 1mb) proggie.. http://www.irfanview.com/ -scoob8000
