Went to see it last night, and goddamn if it isn't the best Batman movie ever. I liked it more than Keaton and Burton's first 2... and considering how much of a Burton fan I am that's quite an achievement. I'm trying to forget Joel Schumacher ever laid hands on the franchise.

Christian Bale pulled off the part magnificently, and the rest of the cast were brilliant. Even the new Batmobile kicked ass.

Thank you Christopher Nolan, my faith in the Batman franchise has been restored. Bring on the sequels!

Totally agree, is deffinity one of the best Batman movies. The story was pretty much the best that was going to be presented.

I really like the way they handled the whole League of Shadows although was slightly dissapointed with Ra's Al Ghul charecter not being imortal. Then again I guess it wouldn't have made much sense considering the "world" it was set in.

Scarecrow was pretty much bang on, so glad they didn't go with the costume from the comics that would have just looked terrible. All the charectors were pretty accurate to their origins. Roll on #2.

:D Went last night with her - and she fell asleep

Afterwards when we were leaving the theater, she told me that she never liked batman much.....

And - great movie by the way. Different than Batman year one, but still a good story loyal to the spirit of batman and frank miller's vision of batman.

Tbh you need a new girlfriend. One that can appreciate a good move and imo the best comic book hero ever created by DC.

I saw it Thursday, and it was chuffin' brilliant. The one let down was that
the city wasn't gothic enough to be 'Gotham City'

Well, she did just come off of a 9 hour workday at the end of a 6 day 60 hour work week - I can cut her a little slack for being tired - but only a little.

    Oh, and about -

    omg, omg... omg!

This was even better than tim burtons ones (which i WILL be watching tonight :)). And it sorts of makes batman make sense.
He's a ninja, and really tough, and wealthy, and angry - this all makes him more than a ninja in the grand sceme, since he isnt evil, the surpasses evil genious, and straight onto superhero.

For those of you who dont know my philosophy on this kind of thing :p In the realm of strength, cunning, and generally who woudl win in a fight, it goes...

    - Civilian including non-officer military (lame)
    - Officer Military
    - Crazy Military Colonels with an eyepatch (maybe optional!)
    - Black Belt Kung Fu Types
    - GAP IN WHICH SHALL BE FILLED WHEN I FIND SOMETHIGN APPROPRIATE
    - Ninja. Not a far cry from the next level. There strong, and cunning, and can become invisible (not really invis, but you know!), but not so clever!
    - Evil Genious (Level 1). e.g. Dr Evil. Not usually strong, but will often have lots of well armed henchmen, and a brain the size of the world.
    - Superhero (Level 1). e.g. Spiderman. Posses some extra cool abilities, and lots of cunning, Ninja like with skills basically.
    - Evil Genious (Level 2) - Lex Luthor esque i suppose. Have vast, VAST techinical resources and boffins at their disposal, extremele bright!
    - Superhero (Level 2). e.g. Batman. People you can night on beat. Only vast amounts of evil geniouses, or a battalion of ninjas (like, 20!) can beat a superhero! Often out for their own vigilante esque purposes.
    - Superhero (Level 3) . e.g. Superman. Heros with badass skills, in which you need an extra super evil genious Level 2 to even try and harm. Maybe harmed by magic. Often have deep emotional problems.

In short, i LOVED this film, so much, i may go back and watch it. There was a point when i just forgot where i was completele! Excellent :) Well done!

    Excellent film, however, one niggle.

The joker kills his parents... I'm sure they could have come up with another way for Batman to begin clearing the City with (the guy off Full Monty!)
