So its new laptop time for me again and have gotten very used to having a quad core and a ton of ram and want to go on the road with it.

That is the closest thing I found to what I want for what I want to spend right now.

Pretty much everything I want but its got a 6 cell battery and I think the options are limited for upgrading that. I really liked my old laptop because I could play 2 hours of tf2 over wifi and still have enough battery life left to screw around over the internet and take notes in class.

Will this work or will I have to go with the dual core or a brand I can get a 12 cell battery in?

I suppose the question is do you really need a quad? Really really?

Games rely much more on the graphics card and most office applications can run on an Atom. Most applications don't even use all 4 cores! Plus, it looks like it weighs a small elephant.

It's always going to be a compromise somewhere... You might be better off with a Core 2 duo (which is meant to be very efficient) or perhaps the new ultra low voltage chips and a semi decent graphics card.
