    problem
get kicked off servers with "lost connection to server" message after about 1min with dual core processors (X2's for certain, dual core p4's probably, same goes for smp, and possibly HT P4's)

    solution
set cpu affinity to use only 1 cpu/core
pain because you have to do it everytime you start bf2, then alt tab out, open task manager and set cpu affinity :\

Yeah but there IS no ASE support so I'll take GA anyday over the ************ thing that comes with the game...

As for the movies, won't that simply get Punkbusters back up?

Oh wonderful. Every server worth playing has rolled back to the retail version of the game, so now I'm having to reinstall the thing AGAIN. EA hat better hurry up with this goddamn hotfix.

Only ASE support is a wrapper thats pretty hit and miss in my experience.

    click login/hit enter
    goes into server

now I'm back to the regular version of BF2, I'm just using the ASE wrapper (I'm assuming your using the patched version?).

The autoloader looks pretty sweet to me. Gonna have a go with that until everything gets sorted at EA's end.

[edit] Balls. Only works with the patch.

Yup same here. Momentary freeze before resuming service. Makes screenshotting in a chopper very risky ;) For some unknown reason BF2 generates a png and a jpg everytime you take a screenie.

my whole system freeze's tho, on my second monitor I have the windows task bar (clock)
and near my hand theres my media pad (part of keyboard set :) )

and there usualy in snyc, but I can tell its crash'd coz the keyboard clock carries on goin :(

Im gonna go try and take another screenie just now, see if its still doing it.

edit - seems to have fix'd itself

How do you stop the intro movies / videos from playing?

Get the add-on that allows you choose which movies to disable, available for download on the front page of Planet Battlefield. Even lets you turn the movies off on the game interface.
