80% on the download. Steam seems to be handling it fine.

The Beta was fantastic with hardly any connection issues. The game play even better.Huge thank you and congatulations to DICE and EA for a fantastic effort. It is so refreshing after the totally dissapointing effort by Infinity Ward. Thank god EA and DICE care about their customers as well as profits. Infinity Ward take note on how it is done without shafting half your customers, you will learn! Just wait for the EU release, there won't be a single sole to be seen on Modern Warfare 2 by the 4th of March and no one will buy your next excuse for a game even if you do back peddal and give us dedi's. Long live Battlefield and Dice!!

It does support 16:10 aspect ratio.
I'm sure I saw 1680x1050 listed in there on the youtube vid. :)

Can't wait to get off this contract and spend some quality time with this game.
Shame I'll need to install windows to play it. :/

My copy is on the way! can't wait !:) - loved the beta , interesting to see how the traditional battlefield 'conquest' mode holds up in this incarnation , also looking forward to BF3 , assuming the same destructable enviroments are included it shold be awesome!

You might actually like it. I quite liked BF2 (although I've never been a massive fan of the series), but I couldn't get on with BC2 at all. It seems to be a game you either love or hate judging from the comments.

I see the EA PR machine is already in full swing

BTW is Directx 11 backwards compatible with Direct x 10 hardware?

Im running windows 7 64bit which installs Direct x 11 as standard but i have direct x 10 hardware.

Do i need to do anything to run BC2 or will Direct x 11 sort it out?

Errr, i would hardly call a 3.6ghz Quad core and 4890 as a computer that "sucks"......

The guns were not good! They all sounded too samey, looked plain and felt the same, in my opinion. The sound effects on everything else were excellent though (ambient sounding gunfire, helicopters, exposions, walls exploding etc).

I only played the beta, so my problems with rubber banding and bad lag on ~60 ping servers may not be an issue with the release (and I really hope they sorted out having to wait for the full game list to refresh before allowing you to do anything), but I doubt they will have changed anything to improve my opinion on the guns. I think the classes are a bit too simple as well, although the customisation does go a long way in making it all more interesting. Plus, who doesn't love unlocks.

And to be honest, the sound of battling in the jungle instead of that God damn snow level is definitely appealing. If the multiplayer issues I experienced in the beta are fixed/not present, then I can see my self buying this.

No LAN play is a huge disappointment. I still LAN game with about 15 people. I know of a group 2 hours away who average 35 attendees. Then theres the 500 man LAN that sold out in 2 weeks. www.pdxlan.net

Devs/publishers seem to think LAN parties are a thing of the past. They are 100% wrong. I online game all the time but I'll drop that and run to a LAN party any day. Nothing more fun than face to face gaming.

This game gets a big fat 5 from me. These companies need to realize LAN/Network play is still a feature PC gamers want in their games.

they might not think its a thing of the past, but is it a thing of the future? its *still* a feature, but how long will it last?

if a dev is restricted to a certain period of development of a game, and u either have to chose between adding a function that interests only a fraction of its targeted consumer, versus another that interest all of them.....

just IMHO. i like LAN, but if i (and most people i know of) can frag at the comfort of my home rather than hauling my PC somewhere and/or don't have the luxury of having the time to do so..... i'd rather stay at home.

tho the other flip side of the coin though, if they can implement a solid online play, how hard is it to enable the LAN function? /shrug
