Bollocks. If I want to see Danielle Lloyd with her tits out, I'll find the Playboy shoot she did to get her Miss England title revoked (yes, I had to Google her career). Nobody - least of all people watching a nominally-car-centric show - is interested in what glamour models have to say, because they aren't hired for their intellect. In general, what comes out of a glamour model's mouth is less interesting to the general public than what goes up her nose. Top Gear is a tiny drop in TV schedules - between 10 and 20 hours every year - too small to waste on celebrity chit-chat, let alone the tedium of watching a top-heavy racist struggling to arrange her sentences. Boobs are everywhere, and it's stupid to waste Top Gear on them when small minds with big tits attached are readily available elsewhere, e.g. Channel Five.

TG is a car show, adulterated with arsing around and surreal comedy. It wouldn't be too bad if the people invited on the show were also car nuts who make good interview subjects - Jay Leno, Jay Kay etc are good examples. What you actually get in SIARPC is celebrities, chosen regardless of their affinity with any form of motoring, because there is a slot in every show that must be filled. Make that optional, and smaller, and only fill it with people that give a crap about motoring, and we're on.

You should write that in a letter and send it to the BBC. :)

    Channel Five you say? :)

I agree though, it'd be great if there were more car nuts. I wouldn't mind if they threw banter about their favourite cars/worst cars but sometimes all they're on for is a plug.

Although after what JC said car means in Albanian, I'm not so sure if that's a good idea

Well it seems they'll be having Simon Pegg and Nick Frost on soonly judging by their respective Twitter feeds, I'm going to assume it's something to do with their new film, 'Paul'.

Either way, they're pretty hilarious and their films are among my favourites so I look forward to it.

Tongue-in-cheek humour my friend. My point was that people moan about the SIARPC because it's usually some person they've never heard of ( re: comedian bloke a couple weeks back ) or because its a celeb with no real interest in cars who's just on there to promote their new book/single/album/film etc.
If you had some fit bit of totty on the show then people wouldnt be complaining so much I bet- whether they have an interest in cars or not is besides the point here. So long as TG have someone vaguely famous to chat to for 10 minutes it adds some variety to the show- I, like you would love to have more real petrol heads being interviewed but there are only so many out there who also happen to be celebs.

Feel free to petition the beeb or the TG facebook site etc if it bothers you that much, but it doesnt bother me nor most other people seemingly...

I did read all those comments; if this was a good representation of how the general public at large felt, then surely they'd have gotten off their arses and written to topgear to complain about the lack of decent SIARPC recently. The fact TG gets 6million or so viewers each week is a fairly good indicator most people either A) dont care or B) will happily moan about it but not bother to do anything either- get writing those letters folks.... :)

Just a thought. I've recently watched through all the seasons (well 1->13) and noticed Hammond's voice has been getting more and more irritating. Has someone else noticed this or is it just me?

His "sound"? You mean his voice?

I'm way late to this thread... I'm guessing nobody here likes Star In A reasonably Priced Car then? :p

I don't have much to say on it, other than I wouldn't be sorry to see it go. It's a star one week and a C list celebrity the next (Jonathan Ross is as much a star as the fluff that lives in my pockets).

Hammond has been getting more and more annoying, mostly since his accident. Maybe that's a bit of the reason...

Last series, I tended to record Top Gear and then skip over the SIARPC segment. This series I've found myself watching it when it's broadcast as well as recording it - daft, I know - which means I can't skip it but I still want to.
