Yep, I'm a big fan of Drive and like what they're doing. Chris Harris is probably one of the best motoring journo's around.

I like Matt Farah too, Tuned is a pretty epic piece.

What I meant was, the lap looked slow, certainly not as fast looking as the Atom V8 was, which is why it surprised me when it surpassed the atom by 2 seconds or whatever the margin was.

Anyway, I think everyone on here agree's that TopGear needs to stop being so scripted. One of my favourite pieces by them was the Veitnam adventure- That was scripted a bit, but there were bit's where they just crack up in laughter, which made TopGear what it was.

Personally, I think they should stop at Season 20. Whilst I'd long for it to be on for longer, I think the ideas would get worse, the show more boring, and it'd loose it's charm too much, and leave a bad taste.
Otherwise, it just ends up being like House, a great show, but you loose interest after watching 100 episodes. same goes for The Simpsons.

Shows like The Inbetweeners, and Breaking Bad are doing it right, and ending on a high note.

It's like watching a car crash - you shouldn't watch, but can't help it.

I thought the episode was OK. A bit unspectacular, perhaps, but good fun.

    SIARPC was GREAT.
The Bentley part was good fun.
The Huayra (besides looking like warmed up a** - ESPECIALLY inside) is fast as stink, and yet leaves me as cold as it possibly can. The sound, the looks, it's just not for me, even if it cost 10% of what it does cost. Honestly, In terms of looks, I'd be less embarrassed climbing out of a Nissan Puke, since no one would notice...

The P45 bit was a bit meh... The concept was funny, and they should have left it at pottering about town and into the mall... anything after that felt like padding...

I wasn't the best Top Gear episode - but any Top Gear is better than no Top Gear.

Exactly, I enjoyed the episode, it wasn't my favorite of all time but it was certainly not the worst.
Damien Lewis was a great guest and his SIARPC lap was very entertaining. Makes a change there!

In the UK we sometimes forget how terrible the rest of the worlds TV is.

What's with an awful colour grading? At first I thought that my monitor was broken, but no - nowadays everything on tv has to have a yellowish tint :wallbash:...

Other than that top gear is top gear.

All the banter, the stunts that go 'wrong', the same old ribbing of each other (May is old and slow, Hammond is small and american, Clarkson is clarkson) - it's all so tired and over-produced. It used to be a must-watch show but it's tired and old now. Having said all that, it's still better than a lot of crap on TV.

Finally watched the first episode last night, wasn't bad, I'm not a massive car fan but tend to enjoy Top Gear.

Nothing special but I'll probably watch the rest (eventually).

    SPOLIER!!!!

The brand new series of the world's most popular car show continues with an epic road trip across the western side of the United States in three front-engined supercars. With Jeremy Clarkson in a Lexus LFA, Richard Hammond driving the new Dodge Viper and James May choosing the latest Aston Martin Vanquish a glorious soundtrack is guaranteed, as are furious arguments about which is best as the trio head from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and on to Palm Springs. Along the way, the three presenters take in racing circuits, airborne attacks and a race against the police before making a break for the Mexican border with a terrifying penalty for the last car to make it. Meanwhile, back in the studio, legendary Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood is the star in the Reasonably Priced Car
