Someone please tell me how they filmed the thing at Twickenham?! Because there's no way that was the real pitch. Surely that whole thing was clever CGI and camera trickery? I thought it was such a terrible waste of good KIA... Oh wait, never mind :hehe:

i would think it would have been done before they re-lay the pitch
the turf that is there now would have likely been worn out over the year ( same with most football pitches ) and would be re-laid...this is the best opportunity for top gear to move in on a feild they can do anything to

    This.

And its a pretty genius bit of marketing... to get the same exposure, they'd be looking at millions if not tens of millions to get the same coverage through normal advertisement.

Yep. Heard Jerry Guscott talking about the new surface at HQ so it's definitely recently been redone.

I would imagine they only relay it once every other year though, not much need for any more for such a low use ground.

Aweomse episode tonight, loved it. Good mix of action, comedy (not too staged - and genuinely funny). The Range Rover review was epic, the guest was good and the old people's car was good too. :)

That Range Rover was seriously impressive. Almost made me briefly consider whether it was worth cancelling my 7 Series on order. But only almost, and only briefly.

Shame, when there's capability like that on tap, that so many Range Rover owners will slap 22" wheels and super-sports tyres on them and they will never venture off the beaten trail.

Watched the last two episodes, enjoyed them both.

The Range Rover was good on the off road stuff, only reason for getting one.

Aside from the build quality, comfort, boot size and general good classy looks?

Try being 6' and over and get into a small low car for a trip to the alps, you'll want one of these in no time.

Personally not a fan of the looks, and surely other cars fit those other specifications?

But not wanting to get into an argument here, so sure :)

Lol yeah I know what you mean, they are quite distinct looking.

I'd like a 4x4 because they're more comfortable, an Evoque has the potential to be perfect for me (i.e no kids) just a shame its a massive hairdressers car.

As for specs I think if I were shopping now I'd get something from Kia but if I had the cash I'd get the RR, because you're right all the SUV's do the large car benefits. As long as I have space to get my gear to the I-series I'm happy.

Footballers you say? Beckham drives a rangerover.

Corsa got all my stuff to i46 :p (2 setups for me and my brother, tent stuff etc)

I really like the look of the Kia cars that I've seen on Top Gear.

"In the war. When the bombs dropped!"

AH-HAHAHA laughing so much I nearly wet myself. Not the inuendo, the fact that it's actually it wasn't just Jeremy being his usual psuedo-racist self, it was actually ALL THEY TALK ABOUT!

Plus, it's totally normal to have a man-crush on Brian Cox. He is awesome.

I think the G-Wagon is just about the only other vehicle on the market that can match the Range Rover's level of trim and off-road capabilities, and that's much pricier.

Just about any luxo-SUV freaks out when it doens't feel asphalt under its tyres as far as I'm aware. I recall seeing an X5 off-road test, and it struggled with wet grass on a gentle slope.

The looks are a bit meh IMO, but it's a Range Rover, and everyone knows it's a Range Rover, for better or worse.

Not many hairdressers could afford an Evoque

I think it suffers for the white and bling. In more tasteful shades (which is what I tend to see FFRR's in) I think it looks absolutely smashing.
