Not really a hardware question more of a observation, I'm currently building a myself NAS box(well starting to price up) and have got around to looking at PSU's. Everyone seems to rave about be Quiet! range so thought that I would have a look at them, the 350W seems to generally retail for around £30 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166784) whereas the 450W(around the size I'm looking at buying) costs on average between £60 to £70 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166784).

I'm not a hugely keyed up on PSU's but as far as I can see they are pretty much the same bar 100W difference which then doubles the price. So generally wondering if anyone could explain to me why the big jump up in price(I'm sure there is one), also if you've got any other suggestions for 450W PSU's that would also be fantastic

    Cheers

    Marc

It's because most end users won't need more than 300w, it's aimed at enthusiasts, professionals and gamers (granted, most good rigs won't run at 400w, but nevermind)

Have a look at the Corsair ~450-550w series', can't go wrong with a 7 year warranty
