A well kept beard doesn't mask a manly jaw. Mines fairly....chiselled(?), and the beard need not ruin the jawline - so long as you don't let it.
Yeah another *hand up* for the whole ginger beard evilness... Still kinda grows in fairly patchy and rather sparse... but like others wetshaving is just pain and effort and makes me far too attractive to pedobear.. It used to be mostly brownish but getting an arseload of sun on me at download has sunbleached all visible hair, so now I have some fecked up blondey ginger thing going on with my hair so kinda look like a fat Kurt Cobain right now... bad times... Trimmed the beard tho as it did just need doing, but also because it would appear quite a few chicks don't actually dig face fungus. Obligitory Stupid shot of posing with a severely deminished beardness
I used to have a beard. but a rainy day coupled with boredom saw the end of that one. But since i have a tendancy of not trimming them except for may every 4-5 months it can get pretty wild.
I have a goatee that comes up to the corner of my mouth. I grew it because I am lazy and didn't want to shave it.
ditto to this... except the hair on the top of my head is at a 5/6/7 so i can mess it up and do stuff with it. i love having some degree of stubble tho, so does the missus, she pisses and moands if i shave it off... works for me! i use clippers now, regular hair clippers with no guide and the blades as far back as they go.
I don't have a beard, just normally some sort of growth around my chin. I just can't be arsed to shave daily, so do it about once a week or every other week.
Wife hates my facial hair as well. But I would have to shave twice a day to keep clean. Problem is, my beardy is so thick it takes 2-3 of the disposable twin blade razors per shave to get it baby smooth without loosing a pint of blood. So now I keep a straight razor on hand when it gets long and I have the time to dedicate to it, or else it's clippers time. I do keep my head shaved to a #2 or else it's time to use the straight razor again. I do find that if want to keep my beard for longer than a day or two, I have to use hair conditioner on it every day to keep it soft enough for the wife to tolerate. And I try to keep to the moisturizing type that has a smell "I" like.
Keep it long enough not to bristle, and you'll find the gf will warm to it. But keep it trimmed and tidy. The best bet is to see a good barber and have him trim and shave you, then just shave the neck and cheeks yourself in between.
I only recently realized that I'd better either shave every day not to look nasty. I think I'll have to wait for a longer holiday and see what happens if I don't shave it.. Methinks it'll get all patchy and pathetic, but there's always the slight chance it won't look terrible.
either grow it for another week, It'll get soft again and stop scratching, or trim it to "before-scratching-itching-length"
